The theme for the 2006 HRT Hispano Legislator Tribute Dinner is "Brindis a la Familia y Mujer Hispana". Member organization, MANA de Alburquerque, is the 2006 Dinner host. Outstanding Hispanas will receive the prestigious "WALKING the TALK" Awards on Feb. 7, 2006 at the El Dorado Hotel. Nominees will be from the Hispana community in the areas of Health, Community, Education, Business and Politics. Each nominee must have demonstrated a commitment to civil rights and/or dedication to outstanding work to better the New Mexico hispano community.

FORMAT : Nomination information must be no longer than one page, word processed and include the category for award, full name of Nominee and contact information (address, phone number, e-mail). Nominator must also provide same contact information.

Decisions for awards in all categories will be made at the November HRT meeting on November 16, 2005.

OF SPECIAL NOTE IS OUR KEYNOTE SPEAKER - DOLORES HUERTA! who will be returning to NM to present the "Walking the Talk" Awards.

The Hispano Round Table of New Mexico, together with its member organizations, will hold its 14th Annual Tribute to Hispano Legislators on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 6:00 pm at the El dorado Hotel in Santa Fe, NM.

The Hispano Round Table of New Mexico will be honoring all Latino Legislators especialmente nuestras Legistradoras who, through their tireless public service, have brought fruition to the hopes and dreams of so many New Mexicans.

In accordance with this year’s theme, “Brindis a la Familia y Mujer Hispana,” five Hispanic women will receive the prestigious “Walking the Talk” award for their selfless work and dedication in the areas of Health, Education, Community, Business, and Politics. A highlight will be the keynote address by Dolores Huerta, current and famed activist during the California United Farm Workers era who graciously agreed to return to her native New Mexico to pay tribute to outstanding New Mexicans.

The Hispano Round Table of New Mexico invites you to participate once again in this annual event whose proceeds support scholarships and numerous community endeavors. Contribution categories are as follows:

COMADRE (SILVER) SPONSOR: $3000

Half page ad in dinner program; seat at the head table; 1 table for 10 persons;

Please plan early to participate in this annual event honoring outstanding New Mexicans.
