To All friends of the Hispano Roundtable of New Mexico:
The Hispano Round Table (HRT) of New Mexico and its member organizations, many of whom are 501(c) 3 non-profit organizations, will hold its 16th Annual Tribute to Hispano Legislators on Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 at 6:00PM in the newly renovated Sweeney Convention Center in Santa Fé, NM. Here is your chance to meet and greet our Hispano Legislators for a BIG year in 2010!!
This year's theme is “Addressing our Latino Education Crisis – A call to Action”. We plan to bring forward the issues surrounding the Latino Education Crisis and bring solutions to the table directly from the White House. We will be honoring all our Latino legislators who, thru their tireless public service, bring to fruition the hopes and dreams of so many.
Our Keynote speaker for this timely event will be Mr. Juan Sepulveda. Mr. Sepulveda is President Barack Obama’s appointee to serve as the Executive Director White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans.
In addition, the HRT “Walking the Talk” awards will be given to those New Mexicans who through their tireless dedication and spirited efforts are creating CHANGE in our community. This prestigious Award is also known as the Chavez Y Chavez Award named after two of our Latino Legendary Leaders: Cesar Chavez and U.S. Senator Dennis Chavez. Nominations are being sought throughout our community for individuals demonstrating such change.
If you know of a company or individual who should receive a sponsorship letter to this event or wish to place a nomination of your own, please contact Jim Arellanes by email at hrtlegdinner2010@gmail.com
The HRT deeply appreciates your participation in honoring New Mexico’s Hispano legislators along with others making a difference in our community. These efforts help us sponsor scholarships for our youth, and thus we invite you to join us once again in honoring our guests.
This event historically has filled up quickly.
